About the "Lifetime Guarantee" offered by Emmrod of Tampa Bay

We are so confident in the durability of the Emmrod, that we personally offer a "lifetime" guarantee" against breakage on the handle and the rod of all our Emmrod models. Yes, you read that right! A lifetime guarantee! We often tell customers, "It's a year's warranty, but we don't care when the year was!" No proof of purchase required, just tell us who you bought it from, and if it was an authorized EMMROD dealer or distributor, we'll take care of you. After all,...we know it's our pole. If it's broken, we want to make it right with you. Although you can break one if you try hard enough, you have to really want to break it. If it can't be repaired, we'll replace it, either by having you return it to the Emmrod factory, to a local dealer or distributor, or by getting it right back to us.

Of course, there may be a very rare defect in the product upon delivery, as well. Don't worry...we'll take care of that, too.

It's a safe bet for us. In fact, we've been sellling EMMROD fishing gear since three weeks before Thanksgiving, 2008. We've only had ONE pole come back broken...and it was literally run over by a Dodge Ram Pickup. The guy didn't buy it from us, and didn't have a receipt, but he was able to tell us the name of the distributor he bought it from. We honored the EMMROD promise, and replaced it for him on the spot.

Now normally, of course, driving over a pole with a truck would be considered outside the realm of normal usage. He first said it fell off the bumper and hit the concrete. It looked like a safe had been dropped on it! I asked him to tell me the rest of the story, and he sheepishly admitted, "Well, I'm sure it survived the fall, but I didn't know it was there. After I backed my pickup out of the driveway, this is what I found." He said, "You're probably not going to replace it now, are you?" I said, "Are you kidding? You just became a part of my sales pitch! Give me that mangled rascal!"

As for replacing the cork, with our models with cork-covered handles...we ask you to understand that over time that stuff does deteriorate. You can protect it, like many of our fishermen do here in Florida, by wrapping it in "Saran-wrap"-type clear plastic, or by "shrink-wrapping" it. The cork isn't guaranteed for life, but with proper care, it should last you for years. It's "stuck on there real good!"
